Signing Statement-is a written comment issued by a President at the time of signing legislation. In other words it gives the President of the United States power, which may be a good thing or a very terrible thing. The purpose for a signing statement is identified with these 3 common purposes: Rhetorical,Political and Constitutional. Some Presidents have signed them like Barack Obama and George W. Bush and others.
some believe that part of the bill is unconstitutional ,the Constitution doesn’t say anything about presidential signing statements. It neither permits nor prohibits them.and would like to change apart of that for there benefit, to gain power. But its not gonna be that simple to gain that much power with just the snap a finger, there are others that have to approve it as well. The President of the United States only has so much power, if he had all the power it wouldn't be so good depending on the President. The positive thing about signing statements is that sometimes the good of them out weighs the bad. For example, President Barack Obama's signing statement for the NDAA(National Defense Authorization Act) authorizes funding for important national defense programs, etc. So what do you think about signing statements? Do you believe they are a benefit to help us or do you believe it gives out too much power to the President.
